Continuous mechanical transport machines

Continuous transporting machines are machines that transport bulk or piece goods in a continuous flow. They differ from other types of transport in a trajectory of movement of cargo fixed in space. Such machines are used for transportation of goods over short distances within the workshop, factory and they are called transporters. If the conveyor moves the load in a vertical plane, then it is called an elevator. If, in addition to moving the object, any technological operations are additionally performed on the conveyor, such a conveyor is called a conveyor.

Device of continuous mechanical transport machines

The machine consists of an engine as an energy source (motion), transmission and actuating devices, and a control system. Together, the first three parts are usually referred to as the engine assembly. A mechanical transmission device is called a transmission mechanism, and a mechanical actuator is called an actuator.

The transporting unit consists of a drive (gearbox and electric motor) that rotates a screw (coreless spiral or auger is the working part of the machine), a drive shaft with turns of the transporting screw fixed on it, a pipeline or trough with a semi-cylindrical bottom, a loading and unloading device. A bulk load is fed through the device loading bin and slides along the pipeline as the screw rotates. The joint rotation of the load with the screw is prevented by the force of gravity of the load and its friction against the pipeline. Through the window in the pipeline is unloading the device. The screw of the transporting unit is made one-way, with the right or left direction of the spiral. The surface of the screw is blade, shaped, tape, solid (used for moving bulk powder, dry fine grain, not prone to caking). When moving caking loads used screws auger with a blade, shaped, tape surface. A steel spiral with an external diameter of up to 100 mm — flexible from spring steel — is used as a screw in a coreless spiral transporting unit. For transporting units with a capacity of more than 20 m / cc. per hour, rigid spirals are used with an external diameter of 60 mm to 420 mm.
